internet has become the source that people most rely on for material about the
local business scene.
The Internet is
settling in and getting all comfortable in its new role as the reliable, go-to
source for people looking for news and information about local businesses.
58% say they
rely most on the internet, including
v search engines - 38% rely on them
v specialty websites - 17% rely on them
v social media - 3% rely on social network sites
31% rely most
on newspapers, including
v printed newspapers - 26% rely most on that
v newspaper websites - 5% rely on them
23% rely on
word of mouth from family and friends
8% rely on
local TV, either broadcasts or the websites of local stations
5% rely on
local radio1
